We are happy to inform you that your child has access to hundreds of eBooks using the school's subscription to Kids A-Z, www.raz-kids.com. Students can read, listen to, and even self-record reading these books. Reading-comprehension quizzes along the way show the progress that your student is making. You can add the app to a device for easy reading or use the computer. The username and password will be the same as A.R.

In Spelling we will have 12 words to practice. Every Friday we will take a quiz. The students will use their backpack workbook as homework to practice the words as well as work on learning the words at school.

Science and Social Studies

During the first and second quarters we will work in our Social Studies book called Reflections. We will read about cultures, traditions, our government and much more.

During the second semester we will be working on Science topics. We begin with plants, animals, and the human body in quarter three. The fourth quarter is all about rocks, fossils, and dinosaurs as well as the water cycle and the three states of matter. This curriculum is from Houghton Mifflin.

Bible

Our Bible curriculum is the Positive Action curriculum. Our focus will be on Finding God's Promises. The main Bible character we will study is Moses. This curriculum encourages building character traits that are found in scripture.

Technology

While students visit the library each week, they have time to work on technology skills such as, searching for books with the computer as well as safe searching on the internet. We recommend our students use this search engine when searching for information on the internet.
