The Teachers

Mrs. Girard

Hi! My name is Teri Girard and I absolutely love teaching second grade at CVC. I grew up in Hanford and attended Hanford Christian School, then Immanuel High School. I earned my teaching credential at Fresno Pacific, then worked on my master's degree while teaching in Hanford Elementary School District. I have experienec teaching kindergarten through third grade students and thoroughly enjoy my job. Being able to share Christ's love with your children is such a gift - and one I do not take for granted.

I have an amazing husband, Phil, who works for California Dairies. God has blessed us with three precious children. Beth is currently working at the Portland Rescue Mission, Allie is a junior at Biola University and Nathan is a freshman at George Fox University. I love being a wife and mom and am so grateful for these blessings in my life.

I am excited to see what God has planned for our class this year! I know it will be a year of growth for all of us and I am thankful for the opportunity to spend time with your children each day. Thank you for all you do to support your child's learning and for all you invest into making CVC such a great place to be!

Mrs. Hooyer

Hello! My name is Irene Hooyer. I am looking forward to a great year with your children in my class and having you as partners this year.

I seem to have a hard time getting out of Second Grade. This is my 31st year of teaching. I did teach third for one year. All my teaching years have been at CVC!

I grew up in Escondido, CA, then went to Dordt College for my education degree. I received my master's degree from Fresno Pacific. While at Dordt, I met my husband Joel. He works for the City of Visalia in the Parks and Urban Forestry Department. We have four wonderful children, who have been able to enjoy learning here at CVC. Jillian is in her ninth year teaching at Mount Vernon Christian in WA. Aaron and his wife Sarah live in Minneapolis where Aaron works as a project coordinator and Sarah is a graphic designer. Jesse is a construction engineer in Fresno, and Adam works in Sioux Falls, SD as a software developer and his wife Lexi is a social worker.

Second Grade is a great building year and I am excited to get to know your children better and see the growth that happens in each of these children! I covet your prayers as we learn to follow Jesus in our thoughts, words, and actions as we Shine for Him.

Mrs. Vos

Hi Everyone!

My name is Jadyn Vos! I am the youngest of 5 kids in my family (and also a twin). I grew up in Tulare, CA, where I went to Sundale Elementary for K-8 and CVC for high school. From there, I went to Trinity Christian College to play soccer and also earn by BA degree in Exercise Science for Occupational Therapy. (I also minored in science and psychology.) I met my husband, Dan, in college and we just celebrated our 1 year anniversary! This is my first year teaching and I am super excited for what the year holds for all of our second graders! :)
